Wisdom keeps saying it’s not about what we have materially but what we have inside that makes the difference. Seriously, consider what it would be to have the money, the cars, the homes, the sex – everything and yet still deal with tension and unease from without and within. Contrast that with someone content with the simpler things in life – no fine wine, more diluted Ribena, no nouveau cuisine, more beans on toast. With that though, there is love, joy and peace just because there is life found not in the things that we have, but the good relationships we have.
A dry crust of bread eaten in peace and quiet is better than a feast eaten where everyone argues. (Proverbs 17:1)

Beans on toast? That is just wrong.
