Nothing Like A Good Friend

Be grateful for good friends. Those around you to share your journey who are interested in you not for what they can get out of you but out of a genuine delight in getting to know and support you. Nothing beats a good friendship, so enjoy the ones you have and spare a thought and kind deed for those who need a good friend.

Oil and perfume make the heart glad, and the sweetness of a friend comes from his earnest counsel. (Proverbs 27:9)

Getting Good Sense From Ol’ Big ‘ead

Just look at their track record, two European Cups, several league championships, other trinkets and memorabilia. It is no surprise that Brian Clough’s best days in management were when he had Peter Taylor by his side. It is no surprise that people tend to succeed well when they are surrounded by good people who help to form good decisions and so see victory in the issues of life. Are good people around you? Or are you isolated in decision-making? Life gets better as we surround ourselves with good people and follow their advice to make the most of life.

A wise man is full of strength, and a man of knowledge enhances his might for by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory. (Proverbs 24:5, 6)

The Company You Keep In The Right Direction

Have you ever paid attention to the company you keep? Are they going in the right direction? More than meaning well, do they put it in action? How do they rub off on us? How do we rub off on them? Managing life is as much about the choices we make in our relationships that shape us as they are about the decisions we make that shape us.

So you will walk in the way of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous. (Proverbs 2:20)

Heart-Warming Journey Companions

Sometimes you can be reading the instructions wrong. So it was actually the second left onto the A412 and now you have to find the route back all over again. There’s something about someone coming alongside you and gently but firmly giving guidance not just in an informational way but something that stirs the entire being. Sometimes we don’t know where we’re going. Sometimes we get the instructions wrong. Sometimes we just need heart-warming companions to put us right.

Back and forth they talked. "Didn't we feel on fire as he conversed with us on the road, as he opened up the Scriptures for us?" (Luke 24:32)

Friends for the Journey

Negotiating the various challenges of life’s journey can be very difficult on your own. Sometimes we can be hurt along the way that’s why friends for the journey are so valuable. Good friends ones who are compassionate, understanding and trustworthy who will bear with you are hard to find. Then again being that kind of friend is equally costly, but good friends exist and are there waiting on the journey to link up with you for the next mile or two. If you have them, when you find them honour them, treasure them and celebrate them.

Jesus was still teaching when four people came up, carrying a crippled man on a mat. But because of the crowd, they could not get him to Jesus. So they made a hole in the roof above him and let the man down in front of everyone. When Jesus saw how much faith they had, he said to the crippled man, "My friend, your sins are forgiven." (Mark 2:2-5)
